Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Onchain Diary ("the Service," "we," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Onchain Diary provides on-chain risk intelligence via a public API. The Service:
- Aggregates risk data from third-party blockchain data providers (GoPlus, Etherscan, OKX).
- Compiles this data into risk scores and signal breakdowns for wallet addresses and token contracts.
- Offers a free tier (risk score and level) and a paid tier (full signal breakdown, holder analysis, liquidity data).
- Also provides educational content (glossary, articles) and free browser-based tools.
Accounts
The Service requires no registration or account. You access the API directly via HTTP requests. Paid requests are authenticated through cryptographic payment signatures (EIP-3009), not user accounts.
Paid API & Cryptocurrency Payments
Access to the paid tier is purchased on a per-request basis using the x402 payment protocol with USDC on the Base network.
- Pricing: Address risk: $0.01 USDC. Token risk: $0.02 USDC. Gas data: $0.005 USDC. Prices are subject to change.
- Payment method: EIP-3009 TransferWithAuthorization signature. You sign a message authorizing a USDC transfer; we verify and settle the transaction on-chain.
- Network: Currently Base Sepolia (testnet). Production network may change.
- Each payment unlocks exactly one API request. Payments are non-transferable and tied to the specific query they were made for.
- You are responsible for gas fees associated with the payment transaction on your end.
Refunds
Each paid request delivers a single API response. Because the risk analysis is delivered immediately upon payment and cannot be "un-delivered," all payments are final and non-refundable.
The following exceptions may qualify for a refund at our discretion:
- The API returned an error or empty result due to a failure on our end (not a data provider outage).
- A system error caused a duplicate charge.
To request a refund, email hi@theonchaindiary.com with the transaction hash.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The risk analysis will be accurate, complete, or current.
- The API will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- The data from third-party providers is correct or reliable.
- Any specific token or address classification is definitive.
Not Financial, Legal, or Security Advice
Onchain Diary provides informational risk analysis based on aggregated on-chain data. The risk scores, signals, and narratives are not financial advice, investment recommendations, legal counsel, or security guarantees.
A "low risk" score does not mean an address or token is safe. A "high risk" score does not prove malicious intent. Blockchain risk assessment is inherently probabilistic and incomplete.
Always conduct your own due diligence before transacting on-chain. Do not rely solely on this Service for financial, investment, or security decisions.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Onchain Diary shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of funds, tokens, or digital assets resulting from actions taken or not taken based on risk analysis provided by the Service.
- Loss of access to wallets or accounts due to reliance on the Service.
- Any damage arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed data from third-party providers.
- Any damage arising from smart contract exploits, rug pulls, or other malicious activity that the Service failed to detect.
The total liability of Onchain Diary for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you to the Service in the 30 days preceding the claim.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to facilitate illegal activities, including money laundering, fraud, or phishing.
- Attempt to circumvent payment, rate limits, or access controls.
- Scrape, cache, or redistribute the Service's data at scale without permission.
- Replay, forge, or manipulate payment signatures.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or attack the API infrastructure.
Violations may result in IP-level blocking and, where applicable, legal action.
Third-Party Data Sources
The Service aggregates data from GoPlus Security, Etherscan, OKX, and other blockchain data providers. We do not own this data and cannot guarantee its accuracy. Each provider has its own terms of service that govern the use of their data.
Rate Limits & Fair Use
The API enforces a rate limit of 30 requests per minute per IP address. Paid requests are subject to the same limit. We reserve the right to adjust rate limits or throttle abusive usage patterns.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access for any user who violates these Terms or whose activity harms the Service. Since there are no accounts, "termination" means IP-level blocking.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable international commerce principles. Disputes shall be resolved in good faith through communication first. If formal proceedings are necessary, they shall be conducted in accordance with the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established.
